How many different BICSI certifications are there?
There are eight of them.
Installer 1
Installer 2, Copper
Installer 2, Optical Fiber
Technician
Outside Plant (OSP) Designer
Registered Telecommunications Project Manager (RTPM)
Data Center Design Consultant (DCDC)
Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD)
The RCDD certification is the highest level of BICSI certification an individual can have.

How long do BICSI certifications last?
Three years — after that, technicians must earn continuing education credits offered or recognized by BICSI for recertification. The exception is the Installer 1 certificate, which is non-renewable.
How much does BISI certification cost?
Costs range from $1,675 for Installer 1 up to $3,915 for data center design.
Can I get financial assistance for taking BICSI certification exams?
Yes, financial assistance is offered through the GI Bill and military benefits.
How much does a BICSI membership cost?
Telecommunications installation workers can become BICSI members to receive per-course discounts on BICSI certifications. Memberships cost $199 a year, $359 for two years, and $514 for three years.
